Christmas is over... Whew!

Well, the big day has passed...  it seems that the big hot topic is about what people ate, or didn't eat over the last week or so.  I have been doing so well with my meals over the last month or so, I wasn't going to sweat one day and enjoy myself.  The funny part was, it wasn't that far off from my 'plan'.  Since I knew that the kids wouldn't want to eat breakfast before opening presents, I had my 'monster' shake, immediately upon waking.  It worked out perfect, because by the time we were done, and had breakfast made, it was right at 3 hours later.  I enjoyed some monkey bread, instead of my Dave's Killer bread and attempted to eat a couple of pieces of 'real' bacon, but it just wasn't as good as I remembered... (weird, I know!), so that went to Lias.  Had my chicken and rice at lunch, another monster shake and then enjoyed a light Christmas dinner.  Some ham, homemade mashed potatoes, green beans and oh how I loved the crescent rolls!  Dessert was a quick no-bake cheesecake.  I think there were a couple of sugar cookies in there, throughout the day, but overall, I didn't think it was too bad.

Just another week

Well, nothing spectacular to report this week.  After a week of the new meal plan, I was able to report a 3lb gain this week and since I got the same reaction out of both Shawna and Jon ("GOOD!"), I am assuming that I am on the right track now.  Even with the amount of food and over all calories in this meal plan, I actually really like it!  Lunch is kind of dry, with chicken and rice, but I just love everything else about it and was glad when I heard this week that I will stick with it for now.  I joked the other day about how not all my peanut butter gets from the spoon to the monster shake...  Just gotta love licking it straight off the spoon sometimes!  I still get my cheat meal once a week and even though I sometimes plan way ahead for it, I usually have a hard time with it because I am so full leading up to it.  I really try to make sure I don't start my cheat until it is time for Meal 5.  I always try to get some kind of sweet treat in there, but I sabotage myself if I have it before the rest of my cheat.  This last weekend, I had my favorite no-bake cookie from Miss Ellie's Cakes before we headed out to Primo's for dinner with our daughter.  I was ready to dive into some pizza, but it just didn't happen because I just didn't react well to the darn dessert I had first!  Note to self on cheat meals...  Get the meal in first, and then go for the sweets!  I need to enjoy these while I can, because I am sure they get few and far between during the cutting phase!

Keeping an open mind & Monster Shakes!

Saturday morning came along...  Weigh in day and workout with Shawna.  I had my mind set and was prepared for the gains I was sure I would have made.  I only missed two meals from when I was sick and I know things aren't fitting quite as loosly as they were.  So, I stepped on the scale and I was down 2 lbs!  What???  I wanted to cry.  I was worried they would think that I wasn't sticking to it, but my full belly, gas and bloating said otherwise!  It was a miserable week, as the gas was worse then ever, but I was pushing through.  I had my kids practically coaching me at night with each bite of dinner... "come on Mom...  You can do it!".  One of the nights, I got up from the table and completely spaced out, went into the living room and was half asleep.  As my son was clearing the table to do dishes, he brings me my unfinished dinner and says "Mom, you need to finish this."  So great having my own personal coaches at home too!

Mind Games & Mucus

Yep...  that pretty much sums up the last couple of weeks for me.  I have been battling being sick since before Thanksgiving and have probably been out of the gym more times then I have been in.  Still trying to stay on top of food, and that is where everything happens.  On top of being sick off and on, my brain has just been a scattered mess!  Making large quantities of food without any seasoning, leaving the prepared food on the counter all night...  so frustrating!  I hate to waste food!  I suffered through the lack of seasoning, but didn't want to risk getting any sicker, so the left out food just got tossed.
