Christmas is over... Whew!

Well, the big day has passed...  it seems that the big hot topic is about what people ate, or didn't eat over the last week or so.  I have been doing so well with my meals over the last month or so, I wasn't going to sweat one day and enjoy myself.  The funny part was, it wasn't that far off from my 'plan'.  Since I knew that the kids wouldn't want to eat breakfast before opening presents, I had my 'monster' shake, immediately upon waking.  It worked out perfect, because by the time we were done, and had breakfast made, it was right at 3 hours later.  I enjoyed some monkey bread, instead of my Dave's Killer bread and attempted to eat a couple of pieces of 'real' bacon, but it just wasn't as good as I remembered... (weird, I know!), so that went to Lias.  Had my chicken and rice at lunch, another monster shake and then enjoyed a light Christmas dinner.  Some ham, homemade mashed potatoes, green beans and oh how I loved the crescent rolls!  Dessert was a quick no-bake cheesecake.  I think there were a couple of sugar cookies in there, throughout the day, but overall, I didn't think it was too bad.

I try to not obsess about the scale during the week and see where I am at on Saturday's, before I go in to the trainer.  But...  out of curiosity, I decided to check.  Only .5 lb gain since last Saturday, so I would say I am doing just fine.  Backing up a bit, I only gained 1 lb last week (the previous was 3), and so I was at 140lbs on Saturday.  It was a pretty active week, with Trinity's dance recital, getting ready for Christmas, so a lot of running around.  We kept my diet the same (which I don't mind at all, since I really like this meal plan!), and I am finally back to training legs.  I had a glute session with Shawna on Saturday and didn't have any pain above soreness that the rest of my glutes and thighs felt (that girl knows how to blast your glutes!).  I have legs on my own tomorrow and will go a bit lighter weight, higher reps and narrow stance to see how things go.  Going to skip the hack squat machine this week!  I miss training legs, so I am eager to get back to it!

Training overall is going well.  I am excited when I make some gains, and am able to push a little more weight, but the competitor in me goes nuts when I hear/see another gal lifting heavier than me, even if they have been training longer, etc.  I have to keep reminding myself that it wasn't that long ago that I was barely able to shoulder press 10lb DB's and now I can do 30's - 35's with a spotter.  It pushes me a bit to try a little harder and push a little bit more, and sometimes I find that I can actually do more.  So, to all those wonderful women in my life who are beasts in the gym...  THANK YOU, because knowing what you can do, just pushes me to work harder so that I can get there too!

Shoes are due to arrive tomorrow!  Glad I am off work until the 2nd, so I can have some time to 'test drive' them.  It should be entertaining! :)
