Blah fish... But I got a tan! :)

14 weeks out!
I am really starting to have some fun with this!  Getting that first posing practice out of the way last week and then on Monday, my trainer Shawna sat me down, got in my face and told me that I am doing everything I need to be doing, follow the plan, eat the food, enjoy the process and quit fretting!  So, that is exactly what i did!  Even my husband said that he has seen a difference in me (for the good) this week and with all that stress lifted, I actually feel like I am seeing some progress!  I was definitely a lot more confident during posing practice again today.  Of course, it was also nice that before hand, I got a fabulous spray tan!  Everything looks better when it is tan! :)
I was able to tackle my fear of fish this week.  I have it where it doesn't take me long to eat it and I usually immediately shove a piece of gum in my mouth afterwards to try to mask any remaining fishy taste.  It is actually pretty easy to cook.  I simmer it (can even throw it in frozen) in a pan with some water, add lemon juice and some Mrs. Dash seasoning and that is about it.  Shawna told me to eat it with mustard, but that is one codiment that literally makes me gag when I eat it, so if you like mustard, that may help!  I then mash it up and mix with my veggies.  This week, it happened to be green beans.  Voila!  Nothing fancy, but it does the job and actually fills me up pretty well.

This week was round 2 for posing.  We did more with walking on/off stage, and also the walking back and forth on stage from the front line, to the back curtain, etc.  I am still wobbly on my turns and some of my transitions, but it is getting better and I still have a while to get it mastered down.  I am trying to get stable and good at those transitions before I start figuring out my 'sass' and any extra hip movements, etc. that I want to add in.  I figure clean posing is better than falling on my ass, so let's work on what we can first! :)

I took a progress pic today and decided to take them in my poses, so I can see the improvement in my posing, as well as my physique.  It will be interesting in seeing how things change in the weeks to come.

16.12% bodyfat  (90% of that is in my ass!  LOL)

Met with Jon (my food nazi and program writer) today for a few minutes and he wants to change my training up so that I am getting (1) leg day and (1) glute day in each week.  I am anxious to get working on those glutes as well! :)  Not sure yet if I have any meal plan changes coming and since I haven't heard from him yet, I am assuming that I am not getting a cheat meal this week either.  Boo, but that is ok.  I haven't had one in 2 weeks and I am sure that as things get closer, they will be few and far between anyway.

Well, a new week is ahead, I am anxious for the changes and just keep doing what I need to do with my food, cardio and weight training.  As I require cardio on days that I weight train, I will be moving my weight training to the evenings.  It is getting hard to get everything in and not shortchange one or the other (or being late to work) and so it is time to split things up.  I am not a fan of training in the evenings, because the gym is so much more crowded, but I think it will be better for me.

Have a great week all and keep working towards those goals, whatever they may be! :)

  1. that is a great recipe idea -- to mash the fish up with your veggies. I may have to try that!
